Day 2

Promenade des Anglais
Promenade des Anglais
Promenade des Anglais in Nice is the most important attraction in the city. It stretches for seven kilometers and provides an uninterrupted view of the azure sea and palm trees. Promenade is not only a popular place for walks, but also for sports. There's a bike path runs throughout its entire length and every now and then, you'll see runners, roller skaters, and other sports enthusiasts.

The beach is made of small pebbles, not sand – which does not seem to have deterred the millions of bathers who come here each year.

Keep an eye out for a few of the promenade's landmarks such as
✔️ Hôtel Negresco,
✔️ The art-deco Palais de la Méditerranée (1929)
✔️ Niçoise sculptor Sabine Géraudie’s giant iron sculpture La Chaise de SAB (2014)

There are several ways to get to the top of Castle Hill but would recommend these two if you are coming from the beach - the staircase right next to the Promenade des Anglais and the elevator that is available in the same place.

Castle Hill, with its ruins of a defensive walls, has become popular for its cool undergrowth and surprising waterfall. This wonderful place for strolling offers a wonderful viewpoint over Baie des Anges, the Port and Old Nice.

Worth seeing:
✔️the 19th century artificial waterfall
✔️observation deck located above the waterfall for panoramic view of Nice
✔️cathedral ruins
✔️the view of the Old Port of Nice on the other side of the hill.
